Tinubu seeks stronger Gavi partnership, reaffirms commitment to vaccine production

Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that the partnership with Gavi is crucial for improving public health outcomes and expanding vaccine manufacturing capabilities across Africa.

He expressed gratitude for Gavi's consistent support, acknowledging its significant contributions to protecting lives and advancing healthcare within Nigeria and the broader continent. Tinubu described Nigeria as the "heart of Africa" and reiterated the nation's serious approach to immunization and commitment to increasing vaccine access. He acknowledged global discussions surrounding vaccination but stressed the importance of scientific evidence and sustained investment in public health infrastructure. The president also commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Pate, for his leadership in driving positive reforms within the health sector.
