Tinubu seeks support for Oyebanji’s re-election

President Bola Tinubu has called on the residents of Ekiti State to ensure the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the upcoming Saturday governorship election. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at a campaign rally, Tinubu lauded the state's populace for their steadfast support of the ruling party.

Governor Oyebanji is a man who understands the nitty-gritty of leadership. He believes you have to be in good accord with farmers, traders, students and even the downtrodden as a leader.

Tinubu commended Governor Oyebanji's leadership, stating that he has demonstrated preparedness and delivered excellent performance benefiting the citizens. The President highlighted Oyebanji's ability to connect with all segments of society, including farmers, traders, students, and the less privileged. He praised the governor's humility, patience, and focus on people-centered governance, noting his respectful engagement with leaders and traditional rulers.

During a recent visit to Ekiti, Tinubu observed significant infrastructure development, including one of the longest flyovers in the country, which he cited as evidence of Oyebanji's effective service. He also pointed to Oyebanji's harmonious relationship with former governors and political leaders as a testament to his beneficial leadership.

He has carried himself with humility and led with patience. He came prepared for governance. He came as a governor and gave respect to leaders and traditional rulers. I am happy that he has kept the machinery of governance focused on the people.

The President observed the absence of opposition candidate posters during his tour, interpreting it as a sign of Oyebanji's broad acceptability and inclusive governance style. He urged voters to re-elect the governor for continued service.

I came to Ekiti recently to commission some projects. I saw one of the longest flyovers in the country in Ekiti, which attests to the fact that he has served you well. His being on good terms with all the former governors and political leaders shows how beneficial his leadership has been.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio echoed these sentiments, describing Oyebanji as a peaceful, humble, and gender-friendly governor whose performance and unifying spirit have resonated throughout the state. He encouraged Ekiti citizens to vote for Oyebanji and subsequently for President Tinubu in the next election.
