Tinubu sweeps Zamfara APC Presidential primary with 321,579 votes

President Bola Tinubu has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Zamfara State, garnering 321,579 votes. The announcement was made by Governor Dauda Lawal, the Chief Returning Officer for the primary in the state, in Gusau on Saturday.

Governor Lawal declared Tinubu the winner after consolidating results from all 14 Local Government Areas. He stated that Tinubu received an overwhelming majority, polling 321,579 votes against his opponent Stanley Osifor's 42 votes. The exercise saw 322,435 accredited voters out of 365,796 registered APC members participate, with a total of 321,620 votes cast.

According to the results presented, Tinubu secured an overwhelming majority of the votes, polling a total of 321,579 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifor, scored 42 votes.

The results from the local government areas indicated that President Tinubu enjoyed substantial support across the state, winning in all councils. Governor Lawal expressed gratitude to APC supporters for their significant turnout and pledged to deliver the results to the party's national headquarters in Abuja. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored the exercise, with Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr Mahmud Isah leading a team of officials.

Senators Ikra Aliyu-Bilbis and Sahabi Ya’u served as returning officers for their respective zones, presenting results to the chief returning officer. Results from the Zamfara West Senatorial District were submitted by local government chairmen. This primary win positions Tinubu to seek the APC's mandate for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
