Tinubu urges judges to deliver swift, fair justice

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigeria's appellate judges to ensure justice is delivered swiftly, fairly, and without bias toward status, tribe, or wealth. Speaking at the commissioning of the new Court of Appeal building in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that a compromised judicial system poses a direct threat to democratic stability.

The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, stated that the completion of the modern complex fulfills his administration's "Renewed Hope Agenda" to restore dignity to Nigeria's institutions. The new facility replaces cramped, temporary quarters, marking a significant upgrade for the Abuja Division.

He added that the new infrastructure, featuring two large and eight smaller courtrooms, will accelerate case resolution, reduce congestion in correctional centers, and bolster public confidence in the rule of law.

Tinubu linked the project to a broader commitment to rebuilding Nigeria, stating, "The Renewed Hope Agenda is not a slogan. It is action. We said we would restore the dignity of our institutions. We are doing it for the Judiciary. We are doing it in health, education, roads, and power. Brick by brick, we are rebuilding Nigeria."
