Tocumen Airport Showcases Panamanian Culture with Music and Folklore

Tocumen International Airport is embracing Panamanian tradition, transforming into a vibrant stage for local culture as it welcomes an increasing number of national and international travelers. The airport recently hosted a folkloric performance featuring traditional singer Alejandro Torres, an initiative designed to immerse visitors in the country's rich heritage.

This cultural activation is part of a broader, two-year-old project aimed at 'Panamanizing' the airport, according to airport manager José Antonio Ruiz. "The first artist to sing at Tocumen, and what better than with a typical singer, and taking advantage of these days when we will have a lot of movement," Ruiz stated, highlighting the strategic timing of the event.

The airport seeks to become a dynamic showcase of Panamanian identity and cultural expressions. This effort is particularly relevant as the airport anticipates a surge in passenger traffic due to the World Cup, with many travelers moving between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. By integrating typical music and cultural spaces, Tocumen aims to enrich the travel experience and present Panama's traditions to a global audience.
