Tom Holland reveals physical sacrifice for 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' scene

Tom Holland, the actor behind Spider-Man, shared an extreme physical preparation method he employed for a scene in 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'. The 30-year-old British performer admitted to dehydrating himself the day before filming a sequence where Peter Parker appears without a shirt.

Holland's goal was to achieve a more defined, muscular appearance on camera, a technique sometimes used in film and by models. However, he confessed the extreme measure proved uncomfortable and did not yield the intended visual results. "I tried to do that stupid dehydration thing; I didn't drink water the day before and then drank a lot more water before filming," Holland said, noting that the lack of hydration only made him ill-tempered during the shoot.

The scene in question takes place in a Russian bathhouse, serving as an improvised office for Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh. In the plot, Belova demands Spider-Man remove his clothes to check for hidden weapons before entering the water. The moment concludes with Peter Parker entering the water in his underwear, wearing only his mask. Holland humorously remarked on the oddity of filming this interaction without his usual co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon present.
