Tomás Barrios Eliminated in Montreal Qualy After Fifth Straight Loss

Chilean tennis player Tomás Barrios's struggles on the circuit continued as he suffered his fifth consecutive defeat, leading to his elimination from the qualifying rounds of the Montreal Masters in Canada. Barrios, currently ranked 138th in the ATP rankings, was unable to advance in the tournament.

He faced Australia's Aleksandar Vukic, ranked 105th. Despite a favorable head-to-head history for Barrios, Vukic secured a victory with sets of 7-6 (4) and 6-2 in one hour and 49 minutes. The first set was tightly contested, going to a tie-break where Vukic proved superior. In the second set, Vukic broke Barrios's serve twice, establishing a commanding lead before closing out the match.

This latest loss exacerbates Barrios's poor run of form, which dates back to the qualifying rounds of Wimbledon, where he achieved his last win. The only Chilean representative remaining in the Montreal tournament is Alejandro Tabilo, seeded 25th and already advanced to the second round.
