Top YKS Exam Scorer Chooses METU Industrial Engineering

Abdullah Uslu, an 18-year-old from Eskişehir, has fulfilled his dream of becoming an engineer by securing a place in the prestigious Industrial Engineering program at the Middle East Technical University (METU). Uslu, a graduate of Eskişehir Fatih Fen High School, achieved a perfect score of 500 in the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) section of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), placing him among the top scorers nationwide. He further secured 496 points in the AYT (Field Proficiency Test) numerical section, ranking 21st.

Uslu's choice was singular: METU's Industrial Engineering. "My current goal and dream have come true," he stated, expressing his aspiration to follow in his father's footsteps as an engineer. His success highlights a strong performance in the national university entrance exams, where state universities reported a near-complete enrollment rate of 99.52% for their regular programs.

The YKS placement results, announced recently, saw 479,392 of the 481,684 available slots filled. The ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) has set the registration period for successful candidates from August 24 to 28, with electronic registrations available from August 24 to 26. Candidates are required to complete their registration at the university they have been placed into.
