Toroslar inspects stationery shops ahead of new school year

With families rushing to buy school supplies, municipal inspectors in Toroslar have turned their attention to stationery shops across the district.

The teams checked whether prices were clearly displayed and matched the products on sale. They also examined information that could affect consumers and looked for practices that might mislead shoppers.

Particular attention went to products used directly by students, including notebooks, pens, erasers and paint supplies. Inspectors checked whether children’s products carried the required information and safety warnings. They also reviewed businesses’ licenses and briefed shop owners about any shortcomings they found.

Toroslar Mayor Abdurrahman Yıldız said families should know not only how much they are paying, but also whether the products their children use are reliable. He said municipal teams would continue monitoring businesses where residents are shopping heavily as the school year begins, while supporting businesses that follow the rules.
