Torta Fest Draws 600,000, World's Largest Cake Breaks Guinness Record

The Torta Fest 2026 concluded its five-day run at the Venustiano Carranza mayor's office esplanade, drawing an impressive crowd of nearly 600,000 attendees. The event, led by Mayor Evelyn Parra Álvarez, not only celebrated Mexican culinary traditions but also achieved a significant milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest cake in the world. This massive confection measured over 100 meters in length and weighed 1,570 kilograms, contributing to the local economy by supporting those who specialize in this popular dish. Families from various parts of Mexico City, different states across the country, and even international visitors flocked to the festival. The gastronomic offerings ranged from traditional tortas to gourmet creations incorporating innovative ingredients and international flavors. Beyond the food, the festival provided entertainment with performances by popular artists including Flans, Salón Victoria, Laureano Brizuela, Aarón y su Grupo Ilusión, Los Yaguaru, Los Askis, Natalia Jiménez, and Millonario y El Costeño, making it a vibrant cultural and culinary celebration.
