Tottenham sign Robertson after Liverpool exit

Tottenham Hotspur has secured the signing of Scotland captain Andy Robertson, who joins the club on a free transfer following his departure from Liverpool. The 32-year-old left-back officially becomes a Spurs player on July 1, after announcing his intention to leave Anfield when his contract concluded this summer.

Robertson was a target for Tottenham during the January transfer window when Thomas Frank was manager. A deal was initially agreed between the clubs, but Liverpool rescinded it when they were unable to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma. Tottenham, now under the guidance of new manager Roberto de Zerbi, successfully secured Premier League survival on the final day of the season with a victory over Everton.

Since his move to Liverpool from Hull City in 2017, Robertson has made 378 appearances for the club, contributing to two Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph. His trophy cabinet also includes two League Cup wins and an FA Cup. He is also set to add to his 92 international caps for Scotland by captaining his country at the upcoming World Cup.
