Tourist bus overturns en route to Dora Observatory, injuring 10 foreigners and others

A tourist bus carrying 21 passengers, including foreign nationals, overturned on Saturday morning while en route to the Dora Observatory in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The accident occurred around 11:24 AM when the 45-seat bus veered to the left and overturned before reaching the observatory's parking area.

Ten passengers, identified as tourists including one from the Dominican Republic, sustained injuries. Emergency services responded promptly, with 16 units and 30 personnel involved in the rescue operation. The injured were transported to hospitals in Uijeongbu, Paju, and Goyang for medical attention.

Authorities are investigating the precise cause of the incident. Initial statements from the driver and passengers suggest the bus may have rolled backward on an uphill section of the road near the parking lot after stopping and attempting to restart. The investigation will examine these accounts to determine the factors leading to the overturn.
