Tourist Out of Danger After Traffic Accident in Copenhagen

An Italian tourist involved in a severe traffic accident in Copenhagen on Saturday is now out of danger, according to Copenhagen Police. The incident occurred when the tourist, who was cycling along the city's lakes, was hit by a bus at the intersection of Søtorvet and Dronning Louises Bro.

The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Police have notified the Italian man's relatives. As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the collision. The bus was traveling on Frederiksborggade when the accident happened.

Dronning Louises Bro, a bridge connecting the city center with the Nørrebro district, was temporarily closed to traffic in the direction of Nørrebro on Saturday afternoon while police conducted their investigation and spoke with witnesses. The road closure was lifted around 5:30 PM. A traffic accident specialist was called to the scene to conduct a detailed examination, and a report is expected later.
