'Toy Story 5' Tops Box Office for Seventh Day, 1 Million Viewers Expected

The animated film 'Toy Story 5' continues to dominate the South Korean box office, holding the number one spot for a full week. As of June 23, the movie had garnered 991,591 cumulative viewers, putting it on the cusp of surpassing the 1 million admissions mark, an achievement widely expected on June 24.

Since its release on June 17, 'Toy Story 5' has consistently topped the daily box office charts. The film marks the latest chapter in the beloved franchise, arriving seven years after 'Toy Story 4' captivated audiences with over 3.4 million admissions in 2019. The new story centers on the toys, including Jessie, Woody, and Buzz, as they unite for an unpredictable journey after facing a new crisis with the introduction of 'Lilypad,' a smart tablet that becomes Bonnie's new friend.

Meanwhile, the film 'Geunche,' starring Jun Ji-hyun, Gu Kyo-hwan, and Ji Chang-wook, directed by Yeon Sang-ho, secured the second position with 23,253 viewers on June 23, bringing its total to 5,576,031. 'Wild Thing,' featuring Kang Dong-won, Uhm Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyun, ranked third, attracting 17,918 viewers and reaching a cumulative total of 1,134,594.
