Toyota Launches Two New Electrified SUVs in Argentina

Toyota Argentina celebrated World Environment Day by introducing two significant additions to its vehicle lineup: the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and the fully electric bZ4X. This launch marks a major step for the company in the local market, expanding its commitment to electrification beyond the conventional hybrid (HEV) technology it pioneered in Argentina with the Prius in 2010.

Gustavo Salinas, president of Toyota Argentina, emphasized the special relevance of this launch on World Environment Day. "For Toyota Argentina, presenting these new models has a very special significance, particularly on World Environment Day," Salinas stated. "It means completing and materializing all the electrification technology that Toyota develops, which until now was represented by hybrid vehicles. With the incorporation of plug-in hybrids and 100% electric vehicles, the brand completes its offering of electrified technologies in Argentina."

The sixth-generation RAV4 arrives with updated design and technology, including hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) options. The PHEV variant combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with three electric motors, delivering a total output of 329 horsepower. It features a 22.7 kWh battery, enabling an electric-only range of up to 142 kilometers and a combined range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. Charging the battery from 20% to 80% takes approximately 1.5 hours with a three-phase installation or 2 hours with a single-phase setup.

The bZ4X represents Toyota's first foray into the fully electric vehicle segment in Argentina. Alongside these new electrified models, Toyota continues to offer its conventional hybrid vehicles, including the Corolla, Corolla Cross, and Yaris Cross, further solidifying its diverse range of eco-conscious transportation solutions.
