Toyota RAV4 PHEV Nears Taiwan Launch, Deliveries Expected This Month for Pre-Orders

Anticipation is building for the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) in Taiwan, with reports suggesting that some customers who pre-ordered the vehicle may receive their cars by the end of this month. This comes even though Toyota's official distributor in Taiwan, Hotai Motor, has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the model's release.

Previously, unofficial information indicated a pre-sale price of NT$1.5 million for the RAV4 PHEV. The vehicle is expected to boast a combined output of 329 horsepower, support for CCS1 fast charging, and an impressive pure electric driving range of 135 kilometers. These specifications, coupled with other advanced features, have apparently spurred early orders despite the lack of official confirmation or test drives.

While the Toyota Taiwan website currently shows no information about the RAV4 PHEV, Hotai Motor recently sent out media invitations for a new car test drive. Although the specific model was not disclosed, speculation strongly points to the RAV4 PHEV, suggesting that Hotai Motor has been quietly preparing for its launch. The model is anticipated to be offered in a single, high-spec trim, featuring exclusive PHEV badging, 20-inch alloy wheels, a gloss-black finish on the wheel arches, and a hands-free power liftgate for enhanced convenience. A unique 'Serene Gray' color option is also expected for the PHEV variant.
