Trabzon mayor pledges major support for amateur football clubs

Ahmet Kaya, the Mayor of Ortahisar in Trabzon, has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting amateur sports clubs, announcing that the municipality will once again cover the league participation fees for 55 local amateur clubs.

Kaya, who recently joined the New Party, met with the management of the ASKF Trabzon Branch for a breakfast meeting. During the discussion, which focused on the development of amateur football and the needs of local clubs, Mayor Kaya stressed that supporting these clubs is a responsibility for local governments. He highlighted that amateur clubs are the backbone of sports in Trabzon, feeding into the professional leagues.

He expressed the need for the stadium to be revitalized and returned to service for the city and Turkish football.
