Traffic Safety Event Aims to Reduce Violations and Accidents

Indonesia's National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is committed to fostering a safe, secure, orderly, and smooth traffic environment through its 'Gebyar Keselamatan Lalu Lintas' (Traffic Safety Festival) initiative. The event, held at the Police Traffic Training Center in South Tangerang, gathered approximately 5,350 online motorcycle taxi drivers.

Irjen Pol. Wibowo, Head of Korlantas Polri, emphasized the commitment of all stakeholders to continuously create a conducive traffic situation. He stated that achieving this goal requires proactive measures, starting from the upstream by identifying, minimizing, and preventing potential traffic disruptions, violations, and accidents.

As part of the festival, online motorcycle taxi drivers received training in critical areas such as Emergency First Aid (PPGD) and safe riding practices. The objective is to equip these drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to a reduction in traffic violations, accidents, and accident fatalities.

Wibowo expressed optimism that the event is a strategic moment that will help achieve the desired outcomes. He hopes the initiative will lead to a decrease in traffic violations, accidents, and ultimately, the number of fatalities resulting from these incidents.
