Transfers: Super Eagles’ Terem Moffi joins German club Hamburger SV

Nigerian striker Terem Moffi has completed a move to German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV, the club announced Monday. The 27-year-old joins HSV from French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice after passing his medical examinations and signing his contract.

Moffi will wear the No. 9 shirt for his new club, embarking on a career that has already spanned several European leagues. HSV's sporting director Kathleen Krüger expressed confidence that Moffi's experience and versatility will enhance the team's attack. "Terem fits perfectly with our orientation. At 27, Moffi's career has seen him play professionally in seven countries. Born in Calabar, Nigeria, he moved to England at 17 to attend the Buckswood Football Academy before starting his professional career in Lithuania with FK Kauno Zalgiris and FK Riteriai. He then moved to Belgium's KV Kortrijk in January 2020, followed by a transfer to France's FC Lorient later that year. His performances at Lorient led to a move to OGC Nice in early 2023, and he spent the latter half of last season on loan at Portuguese club FC Porto. Across these clubs, Moffi has scored 88 goals and provided 13 assists in 228 competitive appearances. He has also represented Nigeria internationally since 2021, earning 23 caps, scoring six goals, and assisting two.
