Tribunal confirms Copa de la Liga sanctions will carry over to national tournament

The tribunal's confirmation, citing Article 44 of the Code of Procedure and Penalties, explicitly states that sanctioned players belonging to clubs eliminated from the Copa de la Liga must complete their suspensions in the next official competitions they participate in. This measure aims to maintain consistency and enforce disciplinary actions across different tournaments.

This ruling has immediate implications for several players. Javier Correa, a forward for Colo Colo, is particularly affected. He is scheduled to appear before the tribunal on June 16th, remotely, following his reported comments criticizing referee Nicolás Gamboa after a match. Luis Rojas is another player who will be impacted by this clarified disciplinary framework.
