Troops foil terrorist logistics, recover N5.3m in Zamfara

Joint Task Force troops in Zamfara State have disrupted terrorist activities in a series of operations, leading to the recovery of significant cash and equipment.

During operations conducted on Friday, troops from Operation Fansan Yamma engaged terrorists in Birnin Tsaba and Shinkafi villages, forcing them to withdraw. Recoveries included two motorcycles, camouflage gear, and a handheld radio.

In one significant bust, troops intercepted a 35-year-old man, identified as Lawali Dan Alo, who is alleged to be a terrorist collaborator and logistics supplier. A search of his bag revealed N5.302 million in cash and a mobile phone.

Preliminary investigations suggest Dan Alo was delivering the funds on behalf of a terrorist leader to another individual, Kasimu Garba, who was subsequently arrested at his residence. Both suspects are in custody for further investigation.

The Theatre Command commended the troops for their vigilance and courage, emphasizing that patrols and intelligence-led operations will continue across the North-West. The public is urged to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
