Troops Rescue Abducted Victims, Dismantle Terrorist Logistics Networks Nationwide

The Armed Forces of Nigeria have intensified offensive operations across the country, successfully rescuing abducted citizens and dismantling terrorist logistics networks. Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, reported significant successes during a press briefing covering July 3 to 9, 2026.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) have sustained offensive operations across various theatres, rescuing abducted citizens, dismantling terrorist logistics networks, disrupting criminal activities and weakening the operational capabilities of insurgent groups.

In the North-east, troops under Operation Hadin Kai rescued six farmers abducted in Borno State and destroyed terrorist infrastructure in Ngala LGA. They also arrested individuals suspected of aiding terrorists, including one accused of identifying wealthy targets for kidnapping. Recovered items included ransom money and weapons.

Operations in the North-west, including Operation Fansan Yamma, focused on patrols and tactical operations, leading to the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and stolen livestock in Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. Troops intercepted materials for improvised explosive devices and dismantled terrorist logistics networks.

Counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts in the North-central, under Operations Savannah Shield, Enduring Peace, and Whirl Stroke, spanned Niger, Kwara, Plateau, Benue, Kogi, and Taraba states. These operations resulted in the arrest of criminals, recovery of weapons, rescue of kidnap victims, and the disruption of criminal hideouts.

In the South-South and South-east, Operations Delta Safe and Udo Ka targeted sea pirates, kidnappers, and economic saboteurs. Troops dismantled illegal refining sites in Rivers and Abia states, recovered stolen crude oil, and disrupted activities threatening national economic assets. The Air Component also conducted precision air operations.
