Tropical Wave to Bring Light Rains to Eastern and Southern Honduras

Honduras is bracing for the arrival of a tropical wave that is predicted to generate light rains and showers across the eastern part of the country on Tuesday. The National Directorate for Risk Management and Contingencies (COPECO) issued the advisory, noting the potential for unsettled weather.

According to meteorologist Jeffrey Flores, the afternoon breeze from the Pacific Ocean is expected to contribute to the formation of weak, scattered precipitation in the southern and southwestern regions. These areas may experience isolated moderate showers alongside the lighter rainfall.

The entry of a tropical wave will generate light rains and weak showers over the eastern region of the country this Tuesday.

For the majority of the country, however, conditions are expected to remain largely dry. COPECO provided a detailed breakdown of expected maximum and minimum temperatures across various regions, including the eastern, western, insular, southern, central, and northern zones, as well as the capital, Tegucigalpa.

Maritime conditions are also expected to be relatively calm, with wave heights on both the Caribbean coast and the Gulf of Fonseca predicted to be between 1 and 3 feet. The current lunar phase is reported as the waxing crescent.
