Truck completely burns out: Smoke plume widely visible in Graz

A significant fire erupted in Graz-Puntigam on Saturday, engulfing a truck equipped with a wood chipper and spreading to a nearby wood storage area. The blaze sent a thick column of smoke billowing into the sky, visible from afar and prompting numerous emergency calls from concerned residents.

Emergency services were swift to respond, with 28 firefighters from the professional brigade deploying eight vehicles to tackle the inferno. The operation required the use of heavy breathing apparatus due to the intensity of the smoke and flames. Fortunately, the driver of the truck managed to escape the dangerous situation without sustaining any injuries.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined as authorities have launched an investigation.
