Truck of Government Textbooks Seized Amid Irregularity Allegations

Local authorities in Pirojpur's Mathbaria upazila have seized a truck laden with government primary and secondary school textbooks following allegations of irregularities. The truck was intercepted in the Uttar Mithakhali area yesterday, though the incident gained public attention today. Residents alerted the administration after observing textbooks being loaded onto the truck under the supervision of M/S Hannan Enterprise, suspecting improper sale. Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sudipta Deb Nath confirmed the seizure and stated the administration is investigating whether the books were sold through official channels. Mohammad Ullah, manager of M/S Hannan Enterprise, claimed the books were bought from a hawker named Zakaria Hawlader. However, Zakaria stated he purchased 587kg of government textbooks and exercise books from a local high school. The seized truck is currently in police custody, and legal action will be pursued if any wrongdoing is uncovered.
