Truckers Union affiliates disrupt OCA plant activity in protest over layoffs

Tensions flared at a private postal service plant in Avellaneda, Argentina, as a group affiliated with the Truckers Union disrupted operations. The union members reportedly entered the OCA facility on Friday, halting activities in protest against what they claim are company-announced layoffs.

Workers from OCA described the group as a "thug squad" led by Jorge Luis Amador, the union's postal branch secretary. They alleged that a security employee was assaulted upon the group's arrival. While the plant was not occupied, activities were brought to a standstill. Union sources indicated that OCA plans to relocate the facility soon, leading to staff reductions, which prompted the union's mobilization.

Some OCA workers reported that the union members arrived suddenly, causing fear. Videos appear to show the group entering the plant with chants identifying themselves as "Camioneros" (Truckers) and the "Correos gang." During a meeting, a union leader reportedly stated that if people had to leave, they would all leave together. The assaulted security employee has filed a police report. The OCA COB plant is a postal logistics center located in Piñeyro, Avellaneda.
