The president's anger reportedly stems from the timing of the leaks, even though he had been aware of potential shortages for months, according to CNN.

During a cabinet meeting at Camp David, Trump focused on media reports detailing low U.S. munitions stocks. He has allegedly instructed the Justice Department to identify individuals responsible for the disclosures, describing them as "treasonous." However, White House officials have indicated that Trump's anger is directed at the leakers, not at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, whom the president praised.

The US has massive amounts of ‘munitions,’ especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the US as needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history.

While Trump has publicly stated that the U.S. possesses "massive amounts" of munitions and is increasing manufacturing, he has also acknowledged that supplies of certain weapons are "tighter." He specifically mentioned that the U.S. has a "virtual unlimited supply" of less advanced weapons.

Reports indicate that long-range missile inventories, including Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), were significantly depleted during the five-month war with Iran, with the U.S. having used "virtually all" of these specific weapons. Trump has threatened "long-term jail sentences" for those found responsible for releasing information about the stockpiles.
