President Donald Trump has declared a sweeping economic offensive against Iran, which he described as the most impactful operation ever undertaken against a country. The goal is to sever all financial lifelines to the Islamic Republic.

Speaking on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, "I am announcing the most devastating economic operation ever undertaken against any country." He warned that any nation allowing its financial institutions, companies, airports, or government entities to provide "any kind of lifeline" to Iran would face reciprocal economic repercussions.

The measure specifically aims to block channels used to circumvent sanctions and maintain financial flows to Iran. This includes targeting oil smuggling, foreign exchange trading, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, and shell companies. Trump demanded an immediate halt to these operations, vowing that Washington would monitor countries and entities that permit them to continue.

Trump framed the initiative as a new phase of U.S. pressure on Tehran. He asserted that Iran's armed forces are significantly weakened following recent clashes and that its economy is on the verge of collapse.
