Trump assures medical check-up went 'perfectly'

President Donald Trump reported that his annual medical examination at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center concluded "perfectly" on Tuesday. The check-up took place just days before the Republican leader's 80th birthday.

This marks Trump's third formal medical evaluation since returning to the White House in January 2025. The president frequently highlights his physical vigor and cognitive sharpness, often contrasting his vitality with that of his predecessor, Joe Biden. However, some observers have focused on his health following occasional instances of public drowsiness and minor bruising on his hands.

Administration officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have countered these observations, emphasizing Trump's exceptionally demanding work pace for a leader his age. Trump's medical history includes evaluations for lower extremity inflammation and chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition causing blood pooling and skin changes. He takes a daily aspirin to mitigate cardiovascular risks, which his doctors say explains his capillary fragility and visible hand bruising.

Following an October review, a cardiac MRI confirmed his heart health was "excellent," with his physician noting his cardiovascular age was approximately 14 years younger than his chronological age. After leaving the hospital, Trump immediately resumed his official duties, including high-level policy and geopolitical strategy meetings, with the war in Iran being a priority.

The White House is expected to release an executive summary of the physical and dental evaluations soon. Preparations are also underway for Trump's 80th birthday celebration on June 14, which will include a large event featuring an martial arts match.
