Trump cancels planned air strikes and bombardments against Iran

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced a surprise decision to cancel planned air strikes and bombardments against Iran. The announcement came via a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump stated that the cancellations were a result of negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran being approved at the highest levels of Iranian leadership. He asserted that these negotiations and their final points had received approval in principle and detail from various parties, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others.

While calling off the military actions, Trump also addressed the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. He indicated that the blockade would remain fully in effect until all transactions were completed. The timing and location for the finalization of these agreements were expected to be announced shortly.
