Trump Claims Sharia Law 'Almost Like a Second Way of Life' in Paris, London

U.S. President Donald Trump has again targeted the presence of Sharia law in Europe, stating his intention to ban it in the United States. Speaking on the conservative talk show 'The Glenn Beck Show,' Trump asserted that Sharia law has no place in America and that any instances of it should be suppressed.

Regarding Sharia, I would say categorically that it has no place in this country: no Sharia.

Trump specifically mentioned London and Paris as cities where Sharia law has become "almost like a second way of life." He described this situation as "ridiculous." The president affirmed his support for an explicit ban on Sharia law within the U.S., emphasizing the importance of maintaining a single, superior legal system.

And you do have places where it is present, as you know. [...] You go to London, you go to Paris, it's almost like a second way of life. It's ridiculous.

This is not the first time Trump has voiced such concerns regarding London. In September 2025, during a speech at the UN General Assembly, he criticized London's mayor, Sadiq Khan, claiming the city had changed significantly and was moving towards implementing Sharia law. At that time, no such procedures were reportedly underway in London.
