Trump denies Iran talks suspended, says dialogue continues

Donald Trump has refuted claims that negotiations with Iran have ceased, asserting that discussions are ongoing. This statement comes after Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that Tehran had unilaterally halted peace talks in response to Israeli military operations in Lebanon.

Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to declare that reports of a halt in dialogue were "false and erroneous." He emphasized that conversations have been continuous, including recent exchanges.

The U.S. president's clarification followed an earlier statement where he indicated he was unconcerned if negotiations were suspended. However, he later revealed that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and engaged with Hezbollah. These conversations aimed to maintain a ceasefire in Lebanon, thereby safeguarding the peace talks with Iran. Trump stated that Netanyahu agreed not to send troops into Beirut, while Hezbollah committed to ceasing projectile fire into Israel, despite recent clashes.

In a separate interview, Trump suggested a potential agreement with Iran could be reached as early as the following week, describing a minor issue that he resolved quickly.
