Trump Hails Saudi-Turkiye-Pakistan Defense Pact as 'Important First Step'

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has welcomed the recent signing of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Pakistan. He described the trilateral security arrangement as a "BIG, BOLD, IMPORTANT FIRST STEP" towards enhanced regional security and self-reliance.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed his happiness that the three nations had "finally" signed the agreement. He noted that the pact signifies the Middle East "coming together" and enables countries to defend themselves more effectively. The agreement was formally executed in Mecca on August 7 by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement establishes a structured framework for collective defense and expanded military cooperation. A key provision states that an armed attack against any one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all.
