Trump hidden in catering truck in secret plane swap over Iran threat, reports say

U.S. President Donald Trump secretly switched planes in Turkey last month, reportedly to evade a potential Iranian missile threat, according to U.S. media reports. The Washington Post reported that Trump boarded Air Force One in view of cameras before being covertly transported via an elevated airport catering truck to a military aircraft. Journalists and some White House staff on board the original plane were reportedly unaware of the switch.

Officials cited by CBS News indicated that the U.S. had detected a credible Iranian threat to target Trump's plane. This clandestine operation followed renewed U.S. military strikes on Iran after negotiations between Washington and Tehran broke down.

Trump had previously stated he was Iran's "number one target" during the summit in Ankara. While he had initially announced he would depart on the older Air Force One, he was instead taken to a smaller C-32A military plane. The exact method of his transfer back to the legacy jet for his subsequent flight to the UK and then the U.S. remains unclear.
