While Putin offered birthday wishes, the discussion also touched upon the situation in Iran, with Trump expressing hope for a potential agreement.

Separately, Trump spoke with Zelenskyy for about 30-35 minutes, as reported by a Zelenskyy advisor to AFP. Zelenskyy shared on social media that the conversation was "quite detailed" and covered topics aimed at advancing peace. He also updated Trump on the latest battlefield situation and Ukraine's strengthened position. The Ukrainian president indicated that further discussions would occur during their meeting at the G7 summit.

Trump has not yet confirmed the details of these calls as described by the Russian and Ukrainian sides. The Group of Seven (G7) summit is scheduled to take place in Évian-les-Bains, France, from Monday to Wednesday. The G7 nations include the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, and Japan. Trump is anticipated to attend a working session with Zelenskyy on Tuesday, although a dedicated bilateral meeting is not planned. Prior to heading to France, Trump was scheduled to watch mixed martial arts fights at an arena set up outside the White House.
