Donald Trump has unveiled ambitious plans to construct one of the world's largest golf courses in the U.S. capital, Washington D.C. The former president announced the project on his social media platform, Truth Social, envisioning a facility capable of hosting major international golf tournaments.

When it is finished, the course will be able to host major golf tournaments such as the US Open, Ryder Cup, PGA Championship and other major PGA tournaments.

Trump described the current East Potomac Golf Links as dilapidated, worn out, and dangerous. During a visit to the Lincoln Memorial's reflecting pool, he and his administration officials, accompanied by golf course architect Tom Fazio and his son, surveyed the existing course. This inspection led to the decision to build a new, significantly larger course.

The most important thing on today's visit was when I, together with the Secretary of the Interior and his people, looked at the dilapidated, worn-out and very dangerous and outdated golf course known as East Potomac Golf Links.
