Trump Receives Six-Figure Pension from 'Home Alone 2' Cameo

Donald Trump, the former U.S. President, received a significant pension payment last year, amounting to $77,808 (approximately 120 million Korean won) from the U.S. Screen Actors Guild (SAG). This payment is a direct result of his brief cameo appearance in the 1992 film 'Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.' The disclosure comes from Trump's 2025 asset disclosure report released by the White House, which also noted an additional $8,724 (around 13 million Korean won) from the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).

SAG and AFTRA merged in 2012 to form SAG-AFTRA, but their pension funds are managed separately. Trump's eligibility for these payments was secured through his SAG membership, which he joined in 1989. The pension system operates by awarding credits based on earnings from film, TV, and broadcast appearances, which, upon meeting certain criteria, grant eligibility for ongoing payments.

Despite Trump's departure from SAG-AFTRA in January 2021, following the January 6th Capitol riot and a threatened expulsion, his pension payments continue. Union regulations stipulate that members who have already qualified for pension benefits remain eligible to receive them even after leaving the union. Trump had expressed his desire to sever ties with the union, stating in his resignation letter, "I no longer want any relationship with you." However, this did not affect his accrued pension benefits.

In addition to the pension, Trump's report also listed residual payments from other past acting roles, including appearances in the film 'Zoolander,' the sitcom 'Spin City,' the drama 'Sex and the City,' and 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show.' These residual earnings were each reported as less than $200. The report also indicated that Trump received $100,000 from SAG in 2024. Overall, his reported annual income for 2025 exceeded $2.2 billion (approximately 3.4 trillion Korean won), with a substantial portion attributed to his family's cryptocurrency ventures.
