Trump's son-in-law and Hamas leaders in Egypt for Gaza talks

Egypt is once again serving as a diplomatic hub for discussions surrounding Gaza, hosting key figures involved in the conflict's resolution efforts. Jared Kushner, the U.S. envoy and former President Donald Trump's son-in-law, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in the Mediterranean city of el-Alamein.

The discussions focused on the Trump administration's plan for Gaza. According to Egyptian presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy, the meeting between Kushner and Sisi "underscored the need among all parties to fulfill their conditions under the Gaza ceasefire agreement."

This high-level diplomatic engagement occurred just hours after Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya reportedly met with Egypt's intelligence chief, Hassan Rashad. The concurrent meetings highlight Egypt's central role in mediating between the involved parties, particularly amid significant challenges in advancing the Gaza plan since the October ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
