Trump sends Moscow and Kyiv his boldest peace plan yet, leaked details reveal

Four main points from what is described as Donald Trump’s boldest peace plan yet have leaked to the press, as Moscow remains cautious and Kyiv divided over how to respond.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would not announce anything in advance. The public, he said, would be informed only once contact had actually taken place. Vladimir Putin has nevertheless said he sees a chance for an agreement, while insisting that his conditions have not changed.

Those conditions include further territorial concessions from Ukraine. Kyiv and its European allies have firmly rejected that demand, viewing it as equivalent to complete capitulation.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his circle are waiting for the U.S. envoys under intense pressure. The Ukrainian leadership knows that its defensive lines cannot remain sustainable over the long term without American military and financial support, leaving it unable to dismiss Trump’s representatives outright. At the same time, Ukrainian society and part of the military leadership strongly oppose any scenario involving the permanent loss of territory.
