Trump threatens Iran over delayed talks: 'Middle East aggressor is DEAD!!!'

President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran, stating the country "will have to pay the price" for excessively delaying negotiations on a peace deal. Trump asserted on Truth Social that Iran's military is in a "disastrous state" and that the nation is speaking a lot but doing nothing.

"The aggressor of the Middle East is MORT!!! They have delayed the negotiations for an agreement that would have been very favorable to them for too long, and now they will have to pay the price!!!" Trump declared. He did not specify any intended actions, though the U.S. military has previously struck Iranian targets near the Persian Gulf.

The remarks cast uncertainty on ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, especially since Trump had previously indicated a deal remained attainable. These comments follow his assertion from the previous day that the United States was only two weeks away from "total victory" over Iran. He insisted the Tehran regime was "on its knees" and "desperately" seeking an agreement, claiming they were ready to "give us everything" and completely abandon nuclear weapons.

Earlier on Monday, Trump stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would have to accept any U.S.-brokered deal with Iran, emphasizing that Washington held the sole authority in these negotiations. Meanwhile, Mohsen Rezaei, a military advisor to Iran's supreme leader, suggested that the prospects for an agreement hinged on the Trump administration's willingness to unfreeze approximately $24 billion in Iranian assets held abroad.
