The incident occurred while Trump was meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on X that it intercepted multiple ballistic missiles launched by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in an attempted surprise attack on U.S. forces in the Middle East. CENTCOM stated that all Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted and that U.S. forces remain vigilant.

At 5:45 pm ET today, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces launched multiple ballistic missiles from Iran in an attempted surprise attack on US forces based in the Middle East.

The IRGC claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that its air force targeted a U.S. airbase and Central Command center in Jordan. The group vowed continued resistance as long as perceived threats and "illegal and vicious actions" by American forces persist.
