The president expressed dissatisfaction with the musical acts initially scheduled for the anniversary celebrations, which were planned from June 25 to July 10. He criticized the performers, stating, "We don't want singers without talent - but with big fees - to lull you to sleep. So we told them to stay home."

Trump indicated that the celebration would be streamlined, focusing on his address and featuring music that the audience has long appreciated. "All we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the best music that has ever been played - the same music you have listened to for years," he wrote.

This announcement follows earlier discussions where Trump had considered canceling the planned concerts and replacing them entirely with his own speech. Several musicians, including rapper Young MC, singer Morris Day, The Commodores, Bret Michaels of Poison, and Martina McBride, had already withdrawn from the celebration's lineup.
