US President Donald Trump undertook a secret military flight from Turkey to Britain last month, a departure shrouded in deception due to an alleged Iranian assassination threat. The Washington Post reported that Trump, after attending a NATO summit in Turkey, did not depart on the official Air Force One as publicly stated.

Instead, moments after boarding the presidential aircraft, Trump reportedly exited the plane via a catering truck. He then boarded a smaller, separate aircraft for his flight to Britain. The New York Times corroborated this report, citing unnamed US officials.

The operation involved Trump initially traveling to Ankara on a newly renovated Qatari-donated jet. However, he unexpectedly announced he would use an older Air Force One for his departure, a decision that raised security questions, especially concerning the newer plane's recent upgrades and the escalating hostilities with Iran.

Trump had publicly stated he would use the older Air Force One "for old time's sake" while the newer plane would stop at RAF Mildenhall in Britain for service members to tour it. However, after boarding the older plane in front of cameras, he was secretly transported by a catering truck to an Air Force C-32A. Journalists traveling with the press pool were instructed to keep their window shades closed during the flight, adding to the secrecy of the operation.
