Trump undergoes third medical check-up amid health questions

President Donald Trump is scheduled for his third medical examination in 13 months at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This routine check-up, which includes dental and medical evaluations, occurs as the 80-year-old president faces renewed scrutiny over his health and physical fitness for the demands of the presidency.

The White House has consistently asserted that Trump is in "excellent health." However, outside medical professionals have voiced concerns, pointing to visible signs such as frequent bruising on his hands, which the administration attributes to frequent handshakes and aspirin use, and swollen legs. Trump's age and his predecessor Joe Biden's past health concerns have amplified public interest in Trump's well-being.

Trump himself has often highlighted his vigor during campaigns, contrasting himself with Biden and referencing his cognitive test results. He has actively campaigned, participated in numerous events, and engaged with the press, projecting an image of robust health. Yet, independent physicians question whether his visible physical symptoms, such as apparent sleepiness during public appearances, might indicate deeper underlying issues.

Concerns about Trump's physical condition have been raised previously. Last year, reports indicated he suffered from chronic venous insufficiency, following an examination for leg swelling. While a December clarification from presidential physician Sean Barbabella stated that advanced imaging of his heart and abdomen showed "perfectly normal" results, some doctors remain unconvinced by the administration's explanations, suggesting the White House may be reluctant to acknowledge any physical ailments.
