Trump will push for "anti-weaponization fund" if Blanche not confirmed, he says

President Trump has delivered an ultimatum to Senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn, demanding they cease delaying the confirmation of Todd Blanche as attorney general. Trump stated that if they do not vote for Blanche, he will push to revive his "anti-weaponization fund," a nearly $1.8 billion fund intended to compensate individuals who claim political persecution.

Administration (I get nothing, although I was treated horribly!), PASSED.

Tillis and Cornyn have reportedly refused to vote for Blanche unless Trump provides written assurance that he will abandon the "anti-weaponization fund." This fund was announced in May as part of a settlement resolving Trump's lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury Department. Trump took to Truth Social on Saturday to express his frustration, stating that if the senators oppose Blanche, he will keep him as Acting AG and vigorously pursue the "Anti-Weaponization Bill."
