Trump, Zelenskyy Discuss Patriot Missile Production in Private Meeting

Former U.S. President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington to discuss the production of Patriot interceptor missiles and potential diplomatic avenues with Russia. Zelenskyy shared on social media that the "good meeting" covered Patriot production licenses and other forms of assistance, alongside discussions on diplomacy.

This meeting appears to be a follow-up to an agreement made at a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit earlier in August. During that summit, Trump had reportedly pledged to grant Ukraine licenses for Patriot missile production. Ukraine has consistently sought additional Patriot systems and joint production as a priority to counter Russian ballistic missile attacks.
