Tunisia declares 2026 the Year of Female Entrepreneurship

Tunisia has officially designated 2026 as the "Year of Female Entrepreneurship" in a nationwide initiative aimed at bolstering women's business ventures. The program, launched by the Ministry of Family, Women, Children, and Seniors, seeks to provide comprehensive support to female entrepreneurs.

Under the slogan "For successful and sustainable female entrepreneurship," the program intends to accompany women from the initial stages of developing a business idea through to its realization and beyond. Hanen Benzarti, director of women's affairs at the ministry, confirmed that 2026 will be dedicated to this cause.

This initiative is being rolled out in partnership with regional administrations and institutions. Its primary goals are to streamline programs focused on women's economic empowerment and formalization. The program will offer structured guidance covering crucial aspects such as financing, mentorship, and close follow-up.

By providing this structured support, Tunisian women with business projects will be better equipped to solidify their initiatives. This includes refining their concepts, preparing administrative documentation, and gaining easier access to funding sources. The "Year of Female Entrepreneurship" aligns with Tunisia's national strategy for female entrepreneurship, which extends to 2035 and was unveiled on March 8.
