Tunisia invites Turkish companies to invest in its economy

Tunisia is actively seeking to attract Turkish investment, with its ambassador to Ankara, Ahmed Ben Sghir, calling on Turkish companies to explore opportunities in the North African nation. This appeal was made during the Tunisian-Turkish Investment Cooperation and Development Forum, held in Istanbul from July 29 to 31.

According to a statement, the forum served as a platform to enhance connections between economic actors from both countries. It aimed to uncover new avenues for partnership and foster the growth of bilateral economic relations. The ambassador emphasized the incentives available to foreign investors, underscoring Tunisia's strategic geographic position as a gateway to African markets and a bridge between the East, Europe, and Africa.

The event saw the participation of Turkey's Deputy Minister of Commerce, Mahmud Gürcan, the Turkish ambassador to Tunisia, and representatives from key Turkish economic organizations. The Tunisian delegation included officials from the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), the Central Bank of Tunisia, and approximately thirty economic operators from sectors such as industry, energy, technology, agri-food, textiles, logistics, and services.

During the forum, the Tunisian ambassador also visited several Turkish investment groups focused on energy, infrastructure, and technology. These visits were intended to explore the potential for developing projects in Tunisia. He also gave an interview to Turkish Radio-Television (TRT) discussing the cooperative relations and future prospects between the two countries, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Tunisia and Turkey.
