Tunisia Poultry Sector Seeks Coordination to Tackle Price Volatility and Climate Shocks

Tunisian Minister of Commerce Samir Abid convened a meeting with industry leaders to address the poultry and egg sector's struggles with fluctuating prices and climate unpredictability. The gathering highlighted the critical need for enhanced coordination between central and regional administrative structures and professional organizations.

Officials stressed the importance of preparing for emergencies and implementing precautions to avert difficulties that could impact the entire sector. This meeting is part of a series aimed at monitoring the sector's condition, particularly in light of recent climatic shifts and price volatility that have affected various components of the industry.

Minister Abid urged stakeholders to collaborate as a unified team to identify and resolve challenges. The objective is to establish long-term solutions that guarantee the sector's stability and bolster its capacity to withstand adversity. This effort aligns with the state's social policy, prioritizing the welfare of all industry participants, especially small and medium-sized farmers, according to a ministry statement.
