Tunisia Sets June 3 Start Date for Cereal Harvest in Tunis Governorate

The official schedule for the 2025/2026 cereal harvest campaign in Tunisia's Tunis governorate has been announced. The harvest will officially commence on June 3, according to the Regional Agricultural Development Commission of Tunis.

Barley harvesting is set to begin on June 3. Subsequently, the harvest for durum wheat, soft wheat, and triticale will start on June 8. This timing was determined following field inspections by technical services, which confirmed that moisture levels met the required maturity standards: 11% for barley, 11.8% for durum wheat, 12.7% for soft wheat, and 13.4% for triticale.

To streamline logistics for the upcoming season, the agricultural authority has granted producers in the region permission to transport and deliver their harvested crops to collection centers located in adjacent governorates. This measure aims to ensure a smoother flow of the harvest.
